11 in 11
This year I have a goal (well it wasn't my idea really but it sounded good :) My dear friend Mindy made a goal to run 11 races in 2011, 11 being her lucky number, I thought "OK Ill join!" Our first race was the "Biggest Loser 5k". I am a huge fan of the show and have to be honest was very star struck running along side of these amazing people, knowing the journey they have been on to get to this point amazes me, makes me so thankful for my health and reminds me not to take it for granted, to get out and use the body I have been given.

Spring Break Cruise

During Spring Break this year we along with my parents went on a 4 day cruise to Catalina and Ensanada Mexico. What a great trip! Its always nice to have some family time away from the distractions of everyday life, we laughed and slept and laid by the pool and ate and ate and ate!! Then it was back to life with the school year rapidly coming to an end in just 6 short weeks we are busier than ever, both girls are on the track team and Kyndall is still in Club volleyball season. I am in big time denial that I have a child graduating and finding almost any distraction to keep me busy.

Good Bye 2010
What a year, many trials and triumphs for many people, I hope to have learned from living and continue on into 2011 the same way!
As the New Year approaches I will not be promising to be a better blogger or to run more miles or have a cleaner house or to lose 20 pounds, however I will promise to just simlpy live and learn and grow with whatever the New Year brings me and my family.
I wish all of you a great New Years!!!

Oh how time fly's!

I made a resolution almost 10 months ago to blog more. Well I didn't I have been to busy living, making memories, and watching my girls grow up into BEAUTIFUL women. I am over the guilt now :) and will try to be a better "Blogger".
Torrie became a Hurricane High School Cheerleader last May, it was one of the best days watching her try out. Watching her go through her Senior year this year has been so much fun, and a little heartbreaking at the same time. She continues to amaze me at the wonderful young women she is.
Kyndall is a Freshman and continues to grow taller and taller, she has passed Torrie by several inches. She just finished up her freshman volleyball season, and is such a hard worker in school.
Brad is in the thick of football season with a quarter final football game this Friday, he continues to ride and completed his 4th Century ride last May.
I have had a great year watching my family thrive, my work keeps me going and on my toes I am grateful for having a wonderful "work family" in these trying times it has been a great wake up call for all those small business's out there. I have had one of my most active running years completing 3 10k's, 1 half marathon, and a 188 mile Ragnar Relay, and miles and miles of training runs. I hope someday to add a full marathon to my list. I have enjoyed the many friends and friendships I have gained while running.

Hurricane Tigers
What an amazing season our Hurricane Tigers had this year, ending at the State Final game with 2.9 seconds left and YES we were going to be State Champs for only the second time in the school’s History with 2.9 seconds left and one more play the Juan Diego Eagle’s had the ball on about their 20 yard line, they snapped the ball and of course threw up a Hail Mary pass (wouldn’t you?) all eyes to the end zone and this kid made the catch of his life and we were not to be State Champs. The stands were so eerily quite all of us just standing in amazement of what had just happened, you see it was truly a once in a life time catch, for our boys it was the end of their season and for some the end of their football careers. I hope those Coaches understand that they can not undo in the 2.9 seconds what they have done for those boys in 4 years! I am beyond blessed to have settled and am raising my kids in Hurricane Utah, what an amazing community, what amazing friends and mentor’s my children have. As we left to make the drive to Salt Lake City that day parents had put banners from Hurricane all the way to Salt Lake ( 4 hour drive!) in support of the team, I hope even in the loss they felt the love and support.
So we move on, the headline in the paper today is “Winter Storm Warning through Tuesday night” so the machines are ready and Brad is pulling out the snow gear. Next will come Kyndalls Club Volleyball season, and Torries Track season, looking forward to both of those! So more to come from the Gardner’s because it’s all about my girls, football, snowmobiling, and Family!
This first picture sums up the last game, the other ones are from the semi final game against Park City.

I am not sure how long this ritual has been going on, we did nothing like this when I was in school, for the Sadies dance girls get tags and run around and tag the boy they want to go to the dance with. They received their tags on a Monday at school, the rules state you may not tag the boy on school grounds, so the hunt began, the boys being safe at football practice and school but once they left the grounds it all began and for Torrie ended at about 1 am that night tagging her friend Tim Long. Watching Cory Edwards be chased down our street by Brooke was one of the funniest things, of course he would want to go with Brooke but you still have to run, about an hour later and after coming down out of a tree Cory had been tagged. They had a great “day date” and Dutch oven dinner, then off to the dance.
